Listening:

Ted Talks: Listen to Derek Siver's Keep your goals to youself and answer the questions:

1. What should you do when you decide on a goal?
2.Why are we less likely to do it when we tell friends?
3. What does conventional wisdom suggest?
4. Explain in your own words the experiment
5. How should we talk about our goals to friends?

Presentation style:

Watch the talk again.
1. Derek Sivers starts his presentation in a way that really grabs the attention of the audience. How does he do this?
2. Look at the way he uses powerpoint images. How effective are they in your opinion? What purpose do they serve?
3. Look at his body language - how does he move around the stage and use his hands. What effect does this have?

Amy Cudden:
High-power and low-power position poses: We all judge people based on their body language, even without realising. But How does body language affect the way we thingk about ourselves?
